Following new research which found “DINKWADs” - dual income, no kids, with a dog - now make up 15% of dog owners in the UK, Guide Dogs is looking for volunteers to help raise future guide dogs and play a vital role in supporting people with sight loss.

This Father's Day, we're celebrating guide dog dad Pierre 'the Heir', age four, who has fathered 13 litters and 99 puppies since entering our breeding programme at the end of 2021.

Volunteer Tracy has been an active part of the Guide Dogs family since 2018, when she decided to get involved after the sudden passing of her husband. Recently, Tracy and her daughter Jess decided to take on a voyage that would link these aspects of her life together.

We’re encouraging puppy owners to look out for beards and other physical characteristics as socialisation opportunities, after research found one in five dog owners revealed their dogs have shown signs of fear or confusion when encountering unfamiliar physical attributes such as beards, facial piercings, tattoos, and unconventional hairstyles.
