Lindsey is an active member of her local Guide Dogs fundraising group in Shrewsbury. Not only does she fundraise for them, manning stands and collection boxes at weekends, but she also campaigns and publicly speaks on behalf of Guide Dogs.

A few years ago, Lindsey wouldn’t have thought this was possible.

A third-year mathematics student at the University of Oxford has shared her story of volunteering and fundraising for Guide Dogs to mark Student Volunteering Week.

Guide dog owner Ben Good, from Fareham in Hampshire, has been awarded an MBE for services to people with vision impairment. Ben was awarded his MBE by His Majesty King Charles III, but the real star of the show was guide dog Stamp, who not only accompanied Ben to receive his award but licked King Charles’ hand!

We hear from volunteers, Ian Carnachan and Brenda Liston, on their return to volunteering in their communities after the pandemic.
