We’ve made a short video to show the world everything we’re doing to overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. While it’s had a devastating effect on our ability to create guide dog partnerships, we’re doing absolutely everything we can to get back on track because we know how difficult the wait for a new guide dog can be.

In our video, I explains more, including how the pandemic affected us as a charity, and what we’re doing to help the service users currently on our Ready to Train programme.

We also hear from Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Matt, who talks about what he does to help people with sight loss as they wait for a new guide dog. Then we hear from Technical Learning Specialist Emma, who’s part of our plan to double the number of staff at Guide Dogs who train new guide dog partnerships.

The video also features service users Mandy and Nicola, who share their experiences of how we’re helping them to stay active, independent and well as they await the call to say that we’ve found them a guide dog.
