Hit children’s television show Dog Squad is back with a special new episode to kick off the second series.

‘Pups in Training’ will follow a new Dog Squad recruit, chosen to join the team from a crop of talented pups at the Puppy Cadet Training Day!

Trainee guide dog Piran was selected to star in the episode, a one-year-old Labradoodle trained by Guide Dog Mobility Specialist Paco Villalvilla. Together the pair get to grips with all the obstacles Piran will need to learn to avoid as a working guide dog, from street signs and benches to bikes and cars.

All the while they are watched over by Labrador Kika, a regular Dog Squad star along with her owner Amit Patel. A veteran guide dog, Kika is on paw to offer advice to Piran and all the other puppies she encounters on her day out.

Dog Squad follows a wide range of working dogs, helping to educate a pre-school audience about how they help people every day in their amazing roles. Guide Dogs staff were thrilled to assist with the ‘Pups in Training’ special, which involved filming at the Guide Dogs Forfar Training Centre, and the National Centre near Leamington Spa.
