We need more volunteer Fundraising Group Coordinators who can help lead a team of volunteer Fundraisers in their local area. Or, if you want to build your confidence and support a Fundraising Group Coordinator on their way to success our Deputy role could be perfect for you. 

You’ll be a fundraising dream team, working together to achieve your group’s goals and improve the lives of people with sight loss. Together, you’ll organise a range of events and collections that raise vital awareness and funds for our life-changing services for people with sight loss.

What you’ll be doing as a Fundraising Group Coordinator

You can make the Fundraising Group Coordinator role your own - you can take on as much or little as works for you, with the option to share the role. You’ll also have the full support of the team and your Guide Dogs volunteer manager.

You can help by:

• Using your fantastic people skills to bring the team together and offer support and encouragement to other volunteers.
• Bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to help the team develop new ideas and activities that will raise funds for Guide Dogs.
• Putting your excellent organisation skills to good use by managing the team’s calendar and making sure the events are supported.
• Leading the fundraising group meetings.
• Using your local networks and connections to work with businesses, shops, schools, libraries and groups in your area to host events.
• Be an ambassador for Guide Dogs by sharing stories and information about the impact of our services.
• Inspire more volunteers to join Guide Dogs and become fundraising volunteers. 

How is the Deputy Fundraising Group Coordinator role different?

The Deputy Fundraising Group Coordinator role can make all the difference and help your group smash their goal! You can chat with the Fundraising Group Coordinator about how you share the role and what areas you both can concentrate on.

You can help by:

• Building lasting partnerships with the fundraising groups and your local community, inspiring people to get involved and have fun. 
• Bringing your own ideas and personality to the group, the more great minds that we get together the better plans we can make.
• Working with the Fundraising Group Coordinator to share the organisation between you; this is all about working to you and your group’s strengths. 
• Leading the fundraising group when the Group Coordinator is away. 
• Talking to local businesses and identifying places that can host and get involved in events, bringing these suggestions to the group and working together to make these plans a reality. 
• Championing Guide Dogs and our work, sharing our stories in your local community. 
• Inspiring more volunteers to join Guide Dogs and become fundraising volunteers.

• You can share your existing skills and develop new skills as we’ll also provide all the training you need for the role.
• You’ll have a dedicated volunteer manager and a team of volunteers who will help support you throughout your role.
• Volunteering should never leave you out of pocket. We pay reasonable expenses related to your volunteering with us, including travel costs.

Training and support

All our volunteers are given the training they need to support them in their role. This is usually delivered online through an engaging and interactive training programme but can also be offered in other formats. Examples of the modules you will be learning for this role include:

• Ideas for successful fundraising events.
