Volunteer at an event
Our supporters can't cross the finish line without the support of volunteers like you!
By volunteering with the Guide Dogs Events Team you’ll be helping us continue our life-changing services for people with sight loss. But that’s not all - you'll be part of a great team, have the chance to attend some of the best events in the country, and we promise you'll have a lot of fun!
What is the role?
You’d be joining the team as an Event Day Assistant. It’s a really varied role which will be tailored to you!
Depending on the event(s) you choose to attend you could be helping to set up branding, covering registration, bag drop or stalls, cheering on our participants, co-ordinating sports massages, escorting participants to the post-race reception, handing out medals or marshalling.
We also welcome any skills that you may be able to bring to a new role as well. Are you a keen photographer? Or a qualified and insured massage therapist? If so, we'd love to hear from you. If you'd like more information about the role, please read the Event Day Assistant role description.
How you can get involved
- If you're a new Guide Dogs volunteer, please download our Volunteer Application Form. Once completed, we will sign you up as an occasional volunteer. If you then choose to volunteer at 3+ events within 1 year, we will need to sign you up as a regular volunteer. (Please note, references will be required at this point).
- If you're an existing Guide Dogs volunteer, please let us know by emailing us at events@guidedogs.org.uk. (Please note, an application should not be required.)
