Become a Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal Champion

Get ready to take on the challenge of inspiring fundraising in your community for the Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal this October.

This year, 1,300 puppies will start their journey to become a guide dog. We might not all be able to train a puppy to become a life-changing guide dog, but it is still possible for us all to play a vital part in turning our pups into partnerships.

What is a Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal Champion

Would you like to help raise awareness of our annual Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal and coordinate fundraising in your local area? If you are looking for a new challenge, like to meet new people, and can commit to supporting us for a few hours during September and October, then our new Champion fundraising role is the perfect fit.

What you could do as a Champion

Whether you have supported us before, or this is something new – we’ll be with you all the way.

As a fundraising Champion you could either:

  • Organise a collection at your work, school, or business.
  • Coordinate local fundraising with the help of our Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal pack.
  • Rally a team of friends, family, or colleagues and fundraise your way.

Steps to being a Champion

Step 1: Plan

Once you have signed up, we’ll contact you to provide tips and advice on your role as a Champion. It might be useful to start thinking how and where you would like to fundraise during October.

Step 2: Get your community involved

Let your friends, family and colleagues know about your fundraising and get them involved too. If you are planning to ask local shops or businesses to fundraise, we recommend visiting in person and can provide leaflets and tips to support these conversations.

Step 3: Order your fundraising packs

Once your plans are confirmed, we’ll post everything you need to co-ordinate your fundraising collection, activity or event. These could include cardboard money boxes, bucket labels, or our puppy sweepstake which comes with a free cuddly toy as the winning prize.

Step 4: On the day

The Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal runs throughout October, but fundraising can take place at any time throughout the month.

Step 5: Pay in the funds raised

It’s time to thank everyone and collect the money you helped raise ready to send to us. We’ll send all the instructions on how you can pay in online or via card, cheque, at the bank or via JustGiving.
