After the recent announcement that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died, on behalf of myself and all of my colleagues at Guide Dogs, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the Royal Household.
We know that this news will affect people in different ways, but we recognise that this is the end of a historic era which Guide Dogs will be marking in an appropriate way.
One important thing to note is that we will be looking to maintain our normal services and all our sites will remain open. We will, however, be highly respectful of how our staff, volunteers, service users and supporters may be feeling, so will adapt accordingly.
As soon as we receive confirmation from the Government regarding what will be happening during this period of mourning, we will let our staff, volunteers and service users know if there is any temporary impact to our service delivery.
As a mark of respect, we are pausing all our external communications for at least the next 24 hours, and will review everything else we were planning to send out in the next few weeks and tailor it accordingly.
